Business founder Dan Huxtable has over 14 years of experience in land and environmental management including roles with State Government, NGO’s and private sector consulting firms.

Dan has an extensive knowledge of revegetation practices in Western Australia spanning; plantation forestry, bushland restoration, mine site rehabilitation and the amelioration of land degradation. His particular areas of expertise include biomass and carbon measurement and forecasting in plantations, revegetation systems and methods, soil and landscape surveys, and property planning and environmental constraints assessments.

Dan is also highly skilled in environmental approvals and permitting processes in Western Australia. As a Senior Environmental Consultant he has overseen a range of environmental impact assessment and environmental management projects in the mining and land development sectors. Dan has wide ranging extension and communications experience, including training and community consultation.

Dan worked for eight years with the Department of Environment and Conservation (formerly CALM) as Project Officer and Senior Research Scientist. In these roles he managed a series of research and broad scale revegetation projects, with a focus on the development of new forestry industries in medium to low rainfall areas. Product investigations included carbon sequestration, bio-energy, reconstituted wood products, high value timber and eucalyptus oil. In the mid 1990’s, Dan held the position of WA State Manager of Conservation Volunteers Australia (formerly the Australian Trust for Conservation Volunteers).

Dan is currently on the Executive Committee of the Revegetation Industry Association of WA (RIAWA), and is a member of the Environmental Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ) and AVONGRO Wheatbelt Tree Cropping.
